Voting?
Dear Friends,
It
seems that voting, though labeled patriotic, cannot significantly change our
future. The times of visionary
politicians went with Kennedy’s “enforced departure”.
Today in North America we have pre-approved clowns, serving those who truly govern us—the financial spheres through their
corporate media, banks and tricky fiscal rules controlling the main parties. The differences the media show between
Canadian and US candidates are just superficial, for the latter are all trying
to project a personality—playing golf, collecting ships, swimming etc. This is
the basic requirement before the debates where they mumble about taxes and
terrorism.
The politicians’ duty after the elections is to be politically correct
and predictable for the key social animators who are hidden behind the
highly-promoted celebrities from different fields of our pushed-pulled
lives. If the puppet leaders fail, or
mistakenly try to do something that’s good for the majority but too costly for
the elite, new scandals are invented to “correct” matters. These support the illusion that we have a system that respects justice.
So, shall we legitimize this system by voting?
One columnist in the Montreal’s Gazette of June 25, 2004 said, “The
rich and powerful have subverted laws and killed innocent people for more
wealth and power since the dawn of recorded history”. Will this situation
be perpetuated, regardless of who wins the election? Well, my alternative to
the dilemma of whether or not to vote is to think instead. We have some time off work today, so let’s
ponder alone or with friends.
The system is too corrupted by people taking advantage of
the majority, and must be
methodically revised. Let’s deliberate
quickly and loudly while we are still allowed to think freely. J
Sincerely,
