Dear Friends,

We do not need any Quebec or Federal Employment/Pay Equity Acts mixed with Mr. Shapiro's bombastic words about "McGill's global character", "generous spirit" and "the ever-evolving face of one of the world's great universities" that were attached today to a five-point survey.

Yes, this University has a very "generous spirit" but primarily for him(*). We should be asked if we share the same opinion.

The most important question is missing from these five "yes" or "no" questions, namely: Do we feel respected at McGill as professors, cleaners, secretaries, students and technical workers?

I suggest you cross out the whole survey page and write in the middle: "Please prepare and send us a new survey asking us whether we feel respected." Then fax it to HR at: (398)-8287 or/and Mr. Shapiro at: (398)-4768

Remember:

1) Keep a fax confirmation, just in case.

2) If the line is busy, try to extend your patience by recalling all those unpaid extra work-loads, those paid job trainings that never appeared, that stolen SunLife money or even salaries, and those “forgotten” adjustments for the increasing cost of living, censoring, recognizing anonymous letters to manipulate academics (i.e. Shapiro) and generally keeping us in the dark.

(*) - Mr. Shapiro until recently was awarded a salary twice as much as the P.M.'s to supervise this university without any market fluctuations, political turbulence or other business risks that would justify such an astronomical salary.

How dare he now instruct us about the Pay/Equity Acts and demand an 80% return rate of the survey?

P.S. If you have already mailed the survey you can make a copy from my site or your slower friends who have not send out the form yet (remember to cover the right corner with the name and ID of this supposedly anonymous survey when making a Xerox!!!) and fax it with this written demand. Let us have a social experiment or happening!

Inform and try to encourage others around you to do the same.

Remember, that given a choice in point five of the survey, confronted with the alternative of ignoring this tricky survey gives the HR a lot of information about our mood/strength and mentality that is so important for further Human Manipulations. Why not to rename the HR as HM? - Ha!ha!

In fact, a lot of former KGB agents (as a matter of fact very honest and nice people to talk with who just do their tasks well and we should rather blame those who give them orders) are getting good jobs in the globalizing corporate NAFTA circus/paradise/c. camp!
